Welcome to the Derbyshire Observatory

This website provides an overview of Derbyshire on a range of social, health, economic, crime and environmental indicators. The indicators are grouped under ten quality-of-life themes. Together they build a picture of life in the county and help to identify where improvements are needed.

• To get started, click on one of the theme buttons below. The indicators are presented in easy-to-use, interactive maps and tables that can be either viewed, printed or downloaded. Each section also contains links to related reports and research.
• To see a summary of the key indicators for a particular area, click on Area Profiles.
• For a more in-depth interrogation of the data and for additional geographies, click on Maps and Tables.
• For further guidance, click on Help in the top-left menu. If you have any comments, suggestions or problems, we would really like to hear your feedback.
