Derbyshire's 2011 Travel-to-Work area map


The most widely accepted method for identifying functional economic market areas is the analysis of travel-to work areas (TTWAs). In 2011, Derbyshire was identified as having three TTWAs, as shown on the map on the left these areas include Buxton, Chesterfield and Derby.

The 2011 Census provides a range of data relating to travel-to-work, including; a defined set of travel-to-work areas and the flow of workers between areas and the distance and method by which people travel-to-work.
