Health Evidence and Intelligence
Overview of public health knowledge and intelligence support in Derbyshire, access to databases and other resources, and contact details
Public Health Knowledge and Intelligence
We have a team of knowledge managers and public health analysts with a highly specialised range of skills including evidence based literature searching and statistical analysis to inform and improve the health and wellbeing of the people of Derbyshire. We aim to provide seamless, timely and free desktop access to knowledge and intelligence. This includes locally created health assessments and profiles and access to external evidence resources.
As part of that service we locally manage ATHENS usernames and passwords, which grant access to the full range of NHS and locally subscribed health databases, electronic books and e-journals. Public Health, Social Care, CCGs and GP Practices in Derbyshire may self-register for an ATHENS account.
We also provide daily alerts, in collaboration with other services - our Daily Health Bulletin provides details of recent evidence and policy affecting public health, social care and commissioning. The core content is available online (see link below) or a local version can be e-mailed to local authority and CCG staff in Derbyshire - contact PublicHealthIntelligence@derbyshire.gov.uk.
