Healthy Places

Healthy Places Healthy places

In the “Healthy Places” domain of the JSNA, we focus on the collective social and environmental factors that play a significant role in shaping the health of the population as a whole. Unlike the factors in “Healthy People” and “Healthy Lives,” these circumstances often go beyond individual control and can impact entire communities.

Within the “Healthy Places” domain there are distinct subdomains, “access to green space”, “access to services”, “crime”, “economic and working conditions”, and “living conditions”. Each subdomain contains various indicators that offer valuable insights into different aspects of health. These indicators cover a wide range of factors, such as housing affordability, unemployment rates, and levels of air pollution.

These subdomains and indicators help us better understand how social and environmental factors intersect with health outcomes at a community level. By examining these factors, policymakers and communities can work together to create healthier living environments and improve the overall wellbeing of the population in Derbyshire.
