Every year the ONS publish a snapshot of the population in England, Wales and their local authorities, with the snapshot taken on 30th June. The 2024 mid year population estimate and a rebasing of both 2023 and 2022 was released on 30th July 2025. On 30th June 2024 Derbyshire was estimated to have a population of 822,377 people, a 1.1% increase since 2023.
