The Census is a survey of the whole population that is carried out every 10 years. It captures a wide range of information about the population that helps local decision makers to target resources more efficiently and to plan and improve public services. The most recent Census was undertaken on the 27th March 2011 by the Office for National Statistics, but planning is already underway for the 2021 Census.

Information and results from the 2021 Census are available on the Census 2021 page.

Information and results from the 2011 Census are available on the Census 2011 page.
